Join Avanti Women on Saturday, March 7th for our celebration of International Women’s Day annual HAT & TEA PARTY.  International Women’s Day theme this year is “Each for Equal”.  We will be honouring this day with four expert speakers on topics related to Diversity and Inclusion.

We have partnered with experts in their fields who will bring forward their amazing thought leadership in unconscious bias, resiliency and having crucial conversations.  A moderated panelist session will be followed by lunch and then breakout round-table discussions.

Our host and moderator, Dina Barazza founded Avanti Women 12 years ago as she felt the need to empower women and their development.  Avanti Women in Italian means ‘moving forward’. Dina sees the world in a positive way and utilized her strengths to create events that make an impact and bring unity to our community.  She is also the President of her own HR consulting firm specializing in leadership, mentoring and learning solutions.

Tanya obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall at York University in 2005 and her Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a minor in Economics from McMaster University in 2002. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. Tanya is currently serving a term as Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario; elected by her peers as not only the first Black elected female Bencher from Toronto, in the 220 year history of the Law Society, but also as one of the youngest sitting Benchers.

Tanya is the founder of Walker Law Professional Corporate and a frequent speaker on legal issues to the Toronto Community and regularly appears on the CTV Show, Your Morning as a legal expert. She has also been Named in the 2017 and 2018 Lexpert Guides as one of the Leading Lawyers to Watch in Corporate/Commercial Litigation and is also the recipient of the 2018 Women’s Business Enterprise of the Year Award.
